Hamilton, Ontario Waterfalls After The Flooding Rainfall Of April 2nd & 3rd, 2025
A before and after view of many of the local waterfalls.

After parts of Southern Ontario were subjected to the remnants of 50 mm+ of precipitation through the overnight of April 2nd & 3rd — YHM recorded 54 mm of rainfall alone — with localized areas around Hamilton receiving much more (note the radar screenshot above), much of my area received localized flooding. Local fields were covered in water as I drove around the area. Creeks were nearly fully crested, if not cresting over some country roads.
My roadway and forest, for instance, was flooded.

With the Hamilton being called “The City of Waterfalls”, I decided to investigate the local waterfalls to see what the deluge did to them and compare to previous pictures.
Beamer Falls - Before & After
Located near the town of Grimsby (not technically Hamilton, I know), it is within about 10 minutes of my place. Flow is dependent on rain and it can dry up entirely…or not.
Devil’s Punchbowl - Before & After
The Devil’s Punchbowl is another waterfall heavily impacted by seasonal rainfall events. It is 110 feet in height and offers a view of many different rock layers of the Niagara Escarpment. New metal fences have been installed across many Hamilton waterfalls, so some vantage points are no longer accessible vs past pictures.
Felker’s Falls - Before & After
A waterfall located in Hamilton, it is 72 feet high and, barring drought conditions, typically receives some level of flow year round. I have also included a view of Felker’s Cascade, which is the lead up to the waterfall itself.
Tiffany Falls - Before & After
A 68 foot height waterfall, this is one of the more popular waterfalls in the Hamilton area. It can be tranquil — and violent — depending, as you guessed, on the rainfall.
Tews Falls - Before & After
This is probably my favourite of the local waterfalls and it usually has constant flow throughout the year — even if summer tends to slow it down a bit. It is a 135 foot ribbon waterfall.
Bonus: Webster’s Falls
I don’t have a before picture here for comparison (I have visited here many times and thought I did), but Webster’s Falls 98 feet tall and falls directly into the nearby gorge. Flow was very strong this day.
